Introducing the smallest, most portable projector we’ve ever seen. The Pico Projector manages to squeeze a projector into a pocket sized device. The projector can display an image or video from as close as eight inches to as far as 8.5 feet away. It’s brightest when close and bigger the further away the surface. At its furthest, the screen is an impressive 65 inches. The resolution is a little less than you might get with a full size projector but totally adequate for casual viewing of movies (480×320). The list price is just over $400 and the Pico is slated for global release early next year with limited release beforehand.

These were fantastic for art/architecture/new media installations. The price is still a bit high to have an array of them – but I am sure they will be cheaper in years to come.

The applications for this seem endless. Lets hope it brings back impromptu movie nights and rogue street installations.
