Steve Jobs unveiled the next generation iPhone today in a WWDC keynote speach. After prototypes were infamously leaked, Apple fans had a rough idea of what was coming. The demo confirmed the new design and provided a first look at the phone in action.
Aside from the new product design, the most notable change is the doubling of both the horizontal and vertical resolution (4x the pixels to 960×640). This change is similar to going from SD to HD television and will be great for images and video. The phone can now shoot 720P video at up to 30 fps. Additionally, a 2nd rear facing camera has been added to provide video call capability over WiFi connections. Apple says that various improvements will deliver 40% longer talk time. In stores June 24th. Full tech specs can be found here.
