Based out of San Francisco, Peace Industry offers some beautiful wool rugs. They are each designed by Melina Raissnia and manufactured in a workshop in Iran. All rugs are hand-made using 100% lamb’s wool and natural dyes. The felt making technique began in Iran during the Neolithic age. Felt’s wool is not woven but rather pressed to create a dense textile. Loose wool is arranged, boiling water is poured over it and pressure fuses fibers together. Details through dyed wool your yarn can be worked into the felt while it is pliable. The process resembles sculpture.
