Darren Waterston has a long, very accomplished history under his belt. His abstract paintings and prints line the halls of MOMA, LACMA, Portland Art Museum, Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and the Crocker Art Museum. Earlier this year his series “Last Days” debuted at Greg Kucera Gallery in Seattle. We are huge fans of Darrens work. Pictured are selections from his 2007 collection entitled “The Flowering” as well as selections from the “Last Days” collection. To see more of his recent work visit him here
Now through September 10th, the Museum of Modern Art, New York will showcasing an enormous Richard Serra retrospective. Those unable to attend can check out the online exhibition. For those lucky readers living in Los Angeles, the show will be traveling to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) in September.
An interesting new way to keep a few extra chairs around for guests has just been added to MoMA’s permanent collection. Molo’s expandable, reconfigurable paper soft seating uses a honeycomb structure that acts like a slinky and can hold the weight of several adults. As the video below shows it can be arranged in any number of ways depending on your set up, how many people you need to accomidate, and the space you have to work with. We expect to see a variety of variations on this theme in the future.
