Lego fans continue to amaze us with their patience and creativity. We’ve seen video game scenes, fashion shows and sculptures, but this takes the cake. This is a highly detailed and fully functioning movie theater complete with working projector. You heard me right. Some would even go so far as to say the three frames per second gives a more filmic look than can be achieved shooting 24 or 30 fps (3 fps pulldown is a bitch though).
If Haute Couture is the height of style and Legos are the building blocks of pop culture it’s only surprising that this hasn’t come sooner. After all if you can make Lego Star Wars and Lego Raiders of the Lost Ark, why not have a Lego Fashion Show.
This would be more of a joke than a piece of art if it wasn’t coming from pop fashion legend Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. His collaboration with Lego and French visual and music production crew Four-H make for a playful and innovative look at something where people often take themselves oh-so-seriously.
In a tribute to the classic video games of the 1980s, these scenes were constructed out of LEGOs. Above you can see a LEGO version of Duck Hunt. The image below shows Excite Bike (complete with rider running to crashed motorcycle). You can view all eleven images in the series here.
