Modern updates to classic jeweled brooches, hair pins, and charms have recently surfaced in boutiques and on the streets of Los Angeles. It would only appropriate that we turn to the originators of the style. Verdura rose to fame in the 1960’s as the head designer in charge of the Chanel boutique jewelry collection. Brazilian jeweler H. Stern has teamed up with Brazil’s premier contemporary ballet company, Grupo Corpo to capture their spirit in jewelry form. 63 dance-inspired pieces will make up 10 different jewelry lines, each named after one of Grupo’s signature performances. One highlight, in particular, is the spiral flower ring, inspired by Grupo Corp’s staging of 21, a dance piece featuring an immense patch-worked floral backdrop. Each piece comes nestled in a handcrafted, velvet lined, imbuia wood box and Grupo Corpo’s logo sealing the deal.

Cute. A term that is used excessively in a modern woman’s vocabulary, but that’s exactly why we love Alex+Chloe’s quirky and creative jewelry designs. With everything from necklaces to bracelets to rings we might have to buy an item or ten. No wonder why Visa sends us Christmas cards.

After debuting in Beverly Hills recently and in Paris prior, a collaboration between fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto and jewelry house Mikimoto has been made available. The line consists of 29 pieces which draw influence from the lunar cycle. Sculptural curved forms take on the quality of liquid suspended in space. Prices range from $1,100 to $55,000 for the line. Available in Mikimoto’s U.S. stores (Beverly Hills, Costa Mesa, Las Vegas, and New York) and the Yohji Yamamoto store in New York.
