Austrian company Riedel takes flight with their new bird inspired wine decanters. Designed by Maximillian Riedel and his father Georg, these glass blown works of art are handmade by artisans in their Austrian factory. Each of these beautiful yet functional decanters takes on their own bird persona. The Swan, and Flamingo are self explanatory names while the Paloma is inspired by the beautiful white dove, la Paloma. Each posses gorgeous curves and a drip-free spout exclusively for elegant entertaining. Keep in mind, while setting the table though, all 3 of these birds are dramatic 23 inches long and hold one standard sized bottle of wine. Available in a variety of styles from Amazon.com.

Muuto is a new Scandinavian design house whose names means “fresh perspective” in Finnish. In the designer’s words: “With the shape of the jug I wanted to tell a straightforward story about its functional anatomy: A large hole to fill the jug, a small hole to pour, a low center of gravity, and a middle area to get a firm grip. At the same time I wanted to create a flowing balance between these four elements in a way that makes them come together in an organic unity, like a heart and its veins or a tree and its branches. The end result almost makes the jug come alive.” Hand made fine bone china – unglazed and hand polished outside, glazed inside. Hold 1.15 liters, or 2.5 pints. 9.5″ tall x 5.5″ wide.

This stainless steel mailbox has a nice formal, sleek shape. The letter box was designed by Stotz Design for Blomus. Made of stainless steel, the box is available with or without a small window. The prices are $312 and $290 respectively, although an internet search can find it for less. Additionally, you can pick up the coordinating newspaper holder which has a list price of $90.

These white porcelain vases by Jonathan Adler have such wonderful shape and texture. Because they are minimal and organic, they will look good for years.
