Fox Racing Hamilton Fedora

hamilton-fedora-hat.jpgDamn this hat is slick. We usually associate Fox Racing with guys who have facial piercings like it’s 1996, need to have their sponsors stop sending them energy drinks, and crank Metallica like they broke up after “And Justice for All”. But in this case they shot the moon and came up with an amazing looking hat that would seem to have nothing to do with dirt bikes. We’re expecting Doc Martens to come back next week with hoodies that rock. Available from Fox Racing for $35.

In a spark of genious, Icelandic collective Vik Prjónsdóttir has created the beard cap. It comes in a couple lengths and colors and is available from Scandinavian Grace in Brooklyn. For those of us who dream of having a full beard for a day and don’t have the patience or ability to get there, this is a product we’ve been waiting for. - Via Kitsune Noir. Thanks for the tip Jason.

I have to warn you, if you try on a hat from Mr. Green Hats it will likely start an obsession. The shape of the hats are absolutely wonderful and the fabric detailing reflects fantastic design sense. They describe their hats as “traditional shapes with a modern twist” and many of the hats use vintage 1940s tie fabrics. Custom colors and sizes are available. Prices vary from around $170 to $260.

Goorin Brothers LA Grand Opening

goorin_party_1.jpgThe new Goorin Brothers boutique on Melrose Ave is a rare find for LA fashion. Originally established in Pittsburgh in 1895, they have operated out of San Francisco since 1949. Their hats blend contemporary textiles with traditional designs, resulting in a fresh take on classic style.

Last night’s grand opening bash was a success. Guests donned derby’s and bowlers covered in delicate floral patterns and bold stripes. Everyone had their hands on a hat of some sort.

You can visit their website or their new store at 7627 Melrose Ave in Los Angeles.
