You may remember when we posted about Alex + Chloe’s quirky jewelry designs back in March. The LA based label has just introduced their fabulous new Sunglass Collection. The Cape Town style is available in red, woodgrain, turquoise and “tuxedo” black, and the Santa Cruz style is offered in grey, black, & brown. Both these styles are inspired from 2 classic Ray-Ban Sunglass styles, the Wafarer and the Aviator. All Alex + Chloe’s handcrafted and imported frames provide UV- 400 protection and come complete in a black box with soft case and wipe cloth. Don’t forget about the little message on inner temple of each pair- “Oui, il est vraiment moi” (”Yes, it is really me”).

Stina Perrson says her illustration style is basically about “finding the right balance between the edgy and the elegant the raw and the beautiful.” This Swedish born artist has quite an impressive list of corporate clients ranging from Coca Cola, Sony Music to Bloomingdale’s and Target that she creates work for in several different mediums- inks, watercolor, cut paper, and gouache. Each work is scribbly yet simple and adorned with stunningly fashionable female forms. Stina gives you a chance to purchase one of her originals at the Cosh Gallery. If you are going to be in Los Angeles Area on May 10th you can catch some Stina Persson’s new work at the opening of Le Femme at the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California. Admission is free and this sounds like a really great Mother’s Day activity. They will even have complimentary flowers for Moms.

Part dress shoe, part running shoe, the sporty yet refined USAN by Puma can take you either down the track or down the runway. Shoe typhoon Adidas celebrates the release of a new collection of Superstars with a not so little surprise. In gigantic joining of the east and west Adidas brought NYC’s Surface to Air and San Fran’s Upper Playground together for a chance to turn a colossal shoe into a work of art. Each crew had 3 days to splash some color on their mammoth plain white replicas of an Adidas Superstar. This was an even more exciting celebration of Adidas releasing an all white model of Superstars, not seen since 1969. After the masterpieces were completed, the shoes were strapped down to a flatbed truck and each team set off to Venice Beach, CA for a battle on the boardwalk.Check out the gallery for tons of awesome photos.

Damn this hat is slick. We usually associate Fox Racing with guys who have facial piercings like it’s 1996, need to have their sponsors stop sending them energy drinks, and crank Metallica like they broke up after “And Justice for All”. But in this case they shot the moon and came up with an amazing looking hat that would seem to have nothing to do with dirt bikes. We’re expecting Doc Martens to come back next week with hoodies that rock. Available from Fox Racing for $35.

These shoes are certainly just what the doctor ordered, Dr. Romanelli, to be exact. Converse has teamed up with everyone’s favorite charity, (RED) to produce what they are calling 1HUND(RED)- 100 artists to create limited edition Converse sneakers for the cause. The Los Angeles based designer, Dr. Romanelli, will be number 12 on their list and delivers us quite a treat with his breathable, beige, bandages overlapping on every inch of a pair of traditionally shaped Chucks. You can check out the first 4 designs (out of 100) on Converse.com and register to be notified as more designs are released.

Brazilian jeweler H. Stern has teamed up with Brazil’s premier contemporary ballet company, Grupo Corpo to capture their spirit in jewelry form. 63 dance-inspired pieces will make up 10 different jewelry lines, each named after one of Grupo’s signature performances. One highlight, in particular, is the spiral flower ring, inspired by Grupo Corp’s staging of 21, a dance piece featuring an immense patch-worked floral backdrop. Each piece comes nestled in a handcrafted, velvet lined, imbuia wood box and Grupo Corpo’s logo sealing the deal.

While everyone wants to be a rock star, very few can pull off leather pants, or the “Steven Tyler Look” (an assortment of interlocking scarves). For a classier breed of rocker-wear, try Sorum Noce.

Housed in a chandeliered gents’ boudoir, SN comes from the seemingly random pairing of fashionisto Max Noce (Valentino, D&G) and Zildjianisto Matt Sorum (G N’ R, The Cult, and the recently Weiland-bereft Velvet Revolver). The gear’s all custom-fitted, and rests on Noce’s timeless inspiration — “elegant, English tailored, black, and small” — but draws rock from the likes of Thin-White-Duke-era Bowie and Depeche Mode, who wore black, and were small. Pieces range from silk-lined vests and suit jackets with working-button sleeves, to polka-dotted button ups, to leather jackets conforming to a Slash-requested design: Italian zippers on the sides, and an extra-wide pocket for his lighter and Gitanes.

On April 22, SN’s hosting a Brent Bolthouse-organized opening party, and through the summer will be projecting flicks on the wall of a small adjacent courtyard — so if you’re caught wearing scarves, you can just say you’re emulating Jean-Paul Belmondo.

“Unusual, yet feminine and easy to wear,” is what shoe designer, Chrissie Morris boasts of her creations. These gorgeous works of art are far from being flimsy, “My shoes are for women like me, my mother, my sister-strong women with strong personalities, who like beautiful things,” Morris explains. Inspired by the medieval era, the ’60s and sci-fi future, Morris adorns stingray and python skins with semiprecious stones and Swarovski crystals for art-deco appearance.

While finishing her master’s thesis knitwear collection in Milan, Morris began to incorporate and manipulate leather. This experiment served her right, and soon after she was hired as a footwear designer for Sinela Gallery. Morris then went on to create her own label of high end shoes in 2007 and has been dazzling the runway ever since.

Model turned Photographer, Robert Jaso, is a highly sought after man in the world of fashion. Years before his eye-catching photography portfolio, Jaso accidentally stumbled into the world of modeling. After much soul searching and fashion know-how, he turned permanently to a career in fashion photography. His experience in front of the camera comes through in his experience behind it. He knows what models, stylists, and make-up artists are capable of achieving and pushes them to stretch the envelope. Jaso’s use of color and texture are absolutely fantastic, especially when it comes to promoting a product.
