Running January 25-30, and February 1-6, 2009, dineLA Restaurant Week is a two-week dining event established to introduce diners to the vast array of restaurants in neighborhoods throughout LA County. Angelenos will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of specially priced three-course meals from some of LA’s best restaurants during this dining event. Participants include the likes of Patina located in Disney Concert Hall. Three course lunches are offered at three prices depending on the location ($16, $22, or $28). Three course dinners are either $26, $34, or $44. Visit the official website for a list of the restaurants, menus, and to make reservations.

Thomas Paul has designed this melamine plate set around a sealife theme. The images above are not presented to scale. They are all shown large so you can see the detail. The set consists of dinner plates (top row – 11″), side plate (middle row – 9″) , and coaster set (bottom row – 4.5″). Each of the plate types is available in a set of four with prices ranging from $15-$36. Ships late October, which is a shame as this would be nice to use for late summer.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference. This creamer set is a welcome addition to the morning coffee ritual. White porcelain tray, jug and sugar bowl, with a wooden lid. Jug is 6.5″h, the sugar bowl is 4.5″ diameter and the tray is 5″w x 8.75″l. You can pick it up here for a modest $28.

These and other melamine plates available here for $11 individually or $39 for the above set of four. All plates are 10″ and dishwasher safe but not microwave safe. A beautiful touch for a fun meal.

The Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa has recently completed one of the more unique restaurants we have ever heard of. Guests of the Ithaa restaurant enjoy 360 degree views of the Indian Ocean as they enjoy Maldivian-Western fusion cuisine. This set of four plates by designer Thomas Paul have a great contemporary graphic quality. They measure eleven inches across and are made of melanine. Safe for the dishwasher, but not for your microwave. The set is available for $36 here. Smaller dessert plates are also available.
