We just found the first 100% biodegradable umbrella. The frame is made of bamboo and the clear canopy is a new bioplasic that is biodegradable and will “biodegrade in less than 5 years in any conventional landfill site” according to Pam & Co., the company who produces this green creation. The Brelli is the brainchild of Pam Zonsius, a New York based entrepreneur who was inspired to create a more eco-friendly version of the umbrella when one day, after a rain, she saw the street littered with discarded and broken umbrellas.
