Bay Area based artist David Ellis has constructed a series of musical and animated sculptural pieces that run off player piano technology. While we remember player piano’s from our child hood playing ragtime and sing-a-longs, Ellis’ creation dances along to it’s own steam punk powered break beats. The piece fetured in this video titled “The Owl” is made of 100% post consumer materials. David Ellis is also and talented painter as you can see on his site, and is a member of the ever impressive Barnstormers crew.
