In the back of every photographer’s head is the dream to shoot 3d (stereoscopic) photos. Not the cheesy blue and red kind. Full color, believable 3d. This setup appears to do just that. A double lensed camera shoots two 120mm film slides simultaneously. Because it shoots film, the color will look great and 120mm film has a bigger negative than the 35mm most people are used to which translates to higher quality.
For those who don’t know, Holga’s inexpensive construction (pastic lens) translates to a low-fi quality which Holga lovers are addicted to. Perfect for anyone who wants to take their photography to the next dimension. Pick it up here.
Loïc Sattler is a French Art Director experienced in web, multimedia, print, clothes styling, and corporate identity. Back in 2003, he was working at a creative studio and the manager told Sattler that his abstract compositions with intense colors looked as if they were created by an artist that was on acid. This extreme portfolio is quite a mind blower and we just wonder how he does it all. Such intricate work and an insane attention to detail. How does one even dream up works like these? Completely breathtaking and mind numbing to say the very least! Read the rest of this entry »

This seems to be an interesting facet of art imitating life. While some of you video gamers have probably created characters with your picture applied to them, this process seems to work in reverse. Rather than creating art in the real world and bringing it to life on a computer Simons’ process works the other way around. Read the rest of this entry »
With most 3D modeling, objects are defined by the modeler. In this demo, VideoTrace interprets video to assist in defining and apparently texturing a 3D model. Maybe someday no assistance will be needed. Now please excuse us, we have some moon landings to fake.
