One might think that the inherent nature of throw away tableware is a wasteful one. For those instances when we balance practicality with our desire to reduce our impact there is Wasara. Along with sustainable reed and bamboo Wasara is made from bagasse, the often discarded remainder of sugar cane post production. This sense of responsibility is matched with an aesthetic sensibility based in Japanese culture and tradition. From their rich texture and natural color palate to their distinctive shape, Wasara tableware references many of the most common forms of Japanese everyday life and diverges with delicately flowing accents. Assorted pieces available here.
