The BMW Lovos (Lifestyle of Voluntary Simplicity) concept is an interesting solution to how to integrate solar technology into a car body. The scale shaped cell panels can lift and turn to adjust themselves to the angle of the sun and absorb the most reflective light. The “scales” can also affect handling by lying flat for maximum aerodynamic performance or lifting to create airfoil braking and stabilization.

Danish Designer / Illustrator / Whatever Emil Kozak has just released his new book “One Day“. This new volume chronicle how graphics have pervaded the products we buy and and a little bit of individuality to the other wise one-size-fits-all objects we surround ourselves with.

Each of us has a special place in our hearts for the illustrations of Maurice Sendak. This month is filled with exhibitions of his work in anticipation of the “Where the Wild Things Are” feature film debut on October 16th. The largest and most in depth at The Animazing Gallery in Soho displays over 200 sketches, etchings, and a limited edition bronze sculpture based on his most popular characters. “Sendak in Soho” will be on display until November 8th at The Animazing Gallery 54 Greene St NY, NY 10013.

We’ve seen our share of “artist” who work with found (junk) materials, but rarely have we seen any one take it to the level of UK duo Tim Noble and Sue Webster. These pieces featured here are intricately constructed piles of garbage that reveal beautiful silhouettes when light is cast upon them.

David Choe is not your average human. He is equipped with a good sense of humor, but most people would probably think he is just plain crazy. David does whatever the fuck he wants whenever the fuck he wants to. I don’t think he could live any other way. He wears his heart on his sleeve and he’s not afraid to say what he thinks.
