Vault49 is a collaboration between Jonathan Kenyon and John Glasgow that they launched during their final year at the London College of Printing in 2002. They quickly emerged as one of the UK’s leading and most innovative design teams with a broad portfolio of typography, illustration, photography, and art direction. After their relocation to New York City in 2004, the vault team continued to rack up their list of international clients including Samsung, Pepsi, MTV, Virgin Atlantic, and the New York Times. This multi-award-winning studio regularly exhibits their unique brand of design in solo and joint exhibitions between New York and London. Their 2006 exhibition entitled the “Greatest Show On Earth” was widely acclaimed in the international design press and also received on-air by BBC radio.

My name is Francesca Cotton and I am currently studying Graphic Design at the University of the West of England in Bristol. This term we have been asked to produce a 10 minute presentation entitled ‘research into the commercial world’ to perform in front of our peers. We have been asked to look into the area of design we are interested in and would like to pursue as a career. Our group is interested in digital collge and Vault49 has been our greatest inspiration. i would be greatful for any information on digital collage, how vault49 began and how they got themselves noticed. what adivce anyone could give aspiring designers in this field and what skills are needed. We would also like to know what people feel the future holds for digital collage. any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated. thanks
