“This Is Where We Live” is a film for 4th Estate Publishers’ 25th Anniversary. 25th Estate was commissioned by 4th Estate and produced by Apt with Asylum Films.

The film was produced in stop-motion over 3 weeks in Autumn 2008. Each scene was shot on a home-made dolly with a still camera. Stills and time lapse of making the piece after the jump.

Wow. That is very cool! How long did it take to shoot the elements?

It sounds like the whole project ran three weeks the majority of which was probably creating the elements. I would imagine shooting went quick but building the elements must have been a bitch.

It’s amazing that this only took 2-3 weeks to complete! I’ll bet there were a lot of sleepless nights that occurred during those 2-3 weeks of building and filming though. I also hope that 4th Estate realized what an amazing piece of work was created for them!

Wow..that was cool. It has inspired me to make some cutout animations. Our hobby website at stopmotioncentral is lacking in this whole area.
