We got to see Frank Warren, founder and curator of the Post Secret Project speak on monday. His pitch drew a standing ovation and a combination of cheers and tears from the crowd here at SXSW.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Warren encourages people to send him anonymous post cards with their secrets on them. He receives 100-200 a day and has a collection of over 200,000, some of which have been published in 4 books. Warren has also created a blog where the public can view and discuss the cards and the secrets they contain.
During his talk, Warren touched on the idea that everyone has secrets and the importance of being able to let them go anonymously. Some of these secrets are extremely personal and we couldn’t help but get a little choked up ourselves.
If you’d like view an anonymous strangers personal secrets (and seriously, this is hard to resist) you can check these 4×5 works of art at postsecret.com.
