A new series of work by Christopher Hewitt features a nice mix of nature phototgraphy and painted illustration to create an ominous dreamlike world. The textures, which resemble watercolor, smoke and ink are particularly nice.

The Kingdom Series is amazing. What is an illustration? What is a photograph? With controversy over the Giclee phenomenon and media that is mixed, who would not want to own an original of these images, or a giclee!

I think questions like that are exactly what makes art interesting. This is truly beautiful work and if it break the rules of “what art should be” all the better.
