Single Speed City Racer by Alta
While the latest version of the Alta City Racer was released in 2006, we figured it was well worth considering as a potential alternative to gridlock. This sleek design was the product of much colaboration. Graphic design firm Bleed, furniture design firm Norway Says, industrial design firm Frost Produkt, and ad agency Shnel & Melnychuck came together to produce this ultra light streamlined vehicle. A specially designed wall mount makes this perfect for any apartment or for those of us who love to keep our toys on display. Rather than dig though the Frost Produkt site, you can e-mail them directly at post@frostprodukt.com to purchase this bike.

Do you know much about bikes? Ultralight you say – what’s the actual weight? Why does it have brakes? It’s got some mighty ugly TIG welds. Can’t see what’s so great about this bike and why you’re plugging it

  2. Alex Jones Says:

Charles – sounds like your holding out on us. Toss up some links. We’d love to check’em out.

Personally, I think this bike looks sweet. I’ll give you that it would look even better without the brakes (although the idea of going down a steep hill and having the pedals turn into a meat grinder in that scenario is terrifying).

    Happy riding.
