We’re as guilty as everyone else in our never ending quest to find the newest, latest and hottest whatever. But every now and again we find some thing that reminds that generations of amazing artists have come before us we might not want to forget about.
These light drawings from Pablo Picasso were taken by LIFE magazine photographer Gjon Mili in 1949 have aged beautifully. As the story goes, Mili showed Picasso a series of photographs he’d taken of ice skaters with tiny lights on them jumping in the dark. Picasso made these images with a small flashlight in the dark, with results that know one would know until the film was developed.
Prints available via LIFE magazine.
