The back story for London born photographer Miles Aldridge is right out of a John Cusack film. The son of an art director, Aldridge took an early interest in the creative fields. Exploring music as a venture, he tried his hand in the “psychobilly” band The X-Men, and subsequently attended the Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, where he studied graphic design. It was not until he met his soon to be wife, supermodel Kristen McMenamy, that he solidified a position as a photographer, shooting for Vogue Italia, American Vogue, and the New York Times among others.
As his work evolved light and color became dominant features of his pieces and thus the fashion world took notice. His 2008 exhibition “Acid Candy” referenced the almost psychedelic nature of his portfolio, exhibiting his draw towards dream like qualities and the elaborate. We have received word that a monograph of Aldridge’s photographs and drawings is due to be published this spring by Karl Largefeld.
