Day 19 Polaroid Portraits

Jeremy and Claire Weiss have a long history in photography here in Los Angeles. In an effort to return to photography with a more traditional process and feel, the pair began taking portraits friends with a large format Polaroid camera. The process requires the subject to maintain their pose for about 20 seconds after the camera has been focused. The result is raw 4×5 portraits, uninterrupted by fancy lighting, makeup, and retouching. I think one of the most interesting aspects of this piece are the subjects. The collection so far exhibits very personal images of a motley group of activists, politicians, artists, musicians, models, and kids.
