28-year-old American artist Cody Hoyt works and plays out of the South. Sarasota, Florida to be exact. Hoyt favors the use of silk screening, but also uses gouache, colored pencil, etching, acrylic, enamel, and photo lithograph and anything else he can think of. He has a wonderful collection chock full of album art, prints, drawings, posters and T-Shirts. His prints and drawings remind us of explosions coming to life on a simple piece of paper. Many of these works have already been on display at exhibitions in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles. We’re sure they’ll make it to many more.

How about fixing south/South, Much/Many and turning “Los Angeles were” into “Los Angeles. We’re” before deleting this comment. The artwork is stunning. It deserves a perfect text.

As a Canadian Painter and Printmaker I am thrilled to view the work or Cody Hoyt. He has given me courage to do what I know I can do with respect to mixing media and having fun with my work. I love this energy ! Great pieces, Cody!

Cody Hoyt hasn’t lived in Sarasota, or “the South” for 7 of 8 years. He lives in L.A.
