The Clayton Brothers seem to have one foot in the world of American folk art and the other in a psychedelic toy land that rides the fuzzy line between illustration and fine art. Their latest show, “Wishy Washy” at the Bellwether Gallery in New York is a non linear narrative story of the characters that roll in and out of the Laundromat near the brother’s studio. Chris and Rob have a collaborative approach to painting where one brother starts a painting and hands it off to the other to finish, leading to some interesting and exciting results.
